Booking a room

I am not a student, can I book a room?

Unfortunately not. This house is especially meant for young students .

Is there an age limit?

Yes, if you want to book a room at SGHG, you need to be between 18 and 28 years old.

Is there any bedlinen present at my arrival?

Due to hygienic reasons bedlinen is not included.

Are the rooms and studios furnished ?

The rooms and studios all have a closet, a double bed, a desk, floor heating, lighting and a sink. The studios (category D) are also equipped with a luxury kitchen, bathroom and a washing machine.

With how many persons can I live in a room/studio? 

The rooms and studios are for 1 person.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms or general areas of SGHG. You can smoke outside with the condition that you will clean up the cigarette butts so it doesn't bother anyone.

From which time can I check-in?

Check-in is possible from 14:00 in the afternoon. If you would like to check-in earlier just send us a message and we will see if that's possible.

Can I store my luggage with your office before check-in?

Our office does not provide space to store luggage. We use the reception of Hotel Miss Blanche to meet new tenants but it is not possible to store luggage there. If you travel by train, maybe you could rent a locker at the train station.

Is the mattress included?

Due to hygienic reasons the mattress is not included. We can arrange a mattress for you so it will be in your room or studio at your arrival.

What is the difference between a room (category A, B, C) and a studio (category D)?

The rooms (category A, B, C) all share the kitchen, bathing and washing facilities with 10 persons on each floor. The studios (category D) all have their own kitchen, bathroom and washing machine. The studios can use the same dryer as the rooms.

Can I reach SGHG by phone?

We only communicate by e-mail. If you send us a message using the contact form on the website we will reply a.s.a.p.

Can I view the rooms?

In order for us to provide the tenants a calm and quiet living environment, unfortunately it is not possible to view the rooms. Check out the 3D tour on the website. This will show you the quality and living space that we offer.

How do I know if the category of my choice is still available?

If you send us a message using the contact form on the website and inform us of the category of your choice and the period you would like to book, we will inform you a.s.a.p. about the availability.

About the building

Where can I place my bike?

The city has several places outside the premises of SGHG where you can park your bicycle. We do advise you to invest in a good lock.

Does the cleaning team also take out the trash and empty bottles etc.?

No, the tenants are responsible for taking out the trash and empty bottles.

How many roommates share the facilities (kitchen, showers etc.)

You share the facilities with 9 other tenants, so 10 in total.

Can I bring my (small) pet?

Unfortunately pets are not allowed.

How many persons are living on each floor?

On each floor live 10 persons.

Rental agreement

Can I change room during my stay?

Yes you can, but please be aware that there are costs involved.

If you decide to leave earlier of course that is up to you, but you will still be responsible for the rent until the end date of your agreement.

I would like to live on the same floor as my friend, is that possible?

You can send us your request using the contact form on the website and of course we will try to fulfil your request, however we cannot guarantee that you will be on the same floor as your friend

Financial

How do I pay?

The first payment can be done by credit card or bank transfer. For the following months we will debit the rent automatically from your (European) bank account using a debit authorization form.

Can I settle the deposit with the payment for the last month's rent?

It is prohibited to settle the rent payments with the deposit.

Can I pay the deposit in instalments?

No, the total amount of the deposit needs to be paid upon booking.

Are there any additional costs?

We charge a reservation fee of EUR 50,- upon booking

Can I get the deposit back in cash?

No, the deposit will be transferred to your bank account.

When will the deposit be returned back to my account?

After the room is returned to us in the same condition as you received it when you moved in, we will transfer the deposit back to your account a.s.a.p. but at least within 14 days.

Which amount do I have to pay as a deposit?

The amount for the deposit is  EUR 1.200,-
